Everyone who follows Eurovision will know that once you get to the Eurovision week, there is a limit on the amount of people you can have on the stage. That limit is six people . They also know that any voices used have to be "live" voices and not pre-recorded.
On watching the first Iclandic semi-final tonight on a webcast, the third act had at least 9 backing singers as well as a number of band members!
WHY?! If you know that you have a limit of six people on stage in Eurovision, why try to qualify with more? The song will never sound the same with less singers!
Look to Daz Sampson's UK entry in 2006. In the UK final, he had pre-recorded backing singers. When he got to Athens, even though the ladies made a good job of it, the song was never at the level with the pre-recorded voices that the song was made for.
