And what a Saturday night this is going to turn out to be.......
Will Dustin The Turkey make it through for Ireland (I do hope not)!!!
Will is be Eurobandio or Mercedes Club from Iceland........my money is Eurobandio!!
What type of song will Ani Lorak get to sing for Ukraine following their gimmick song last year.
Are Macedonia going to send a song that guarantees them a place in the final and then to finish about 14th??? or will they send one that guarantees them a place in the final which they then go on to win!!!?
How many more acts will pull out of the Romanian final before tonight and will they be able to choose a song which brings them back into a Top 5 placing?
Are Poland going to break with tradition and send a song which qualifies them to the final on 24th May........I hope so!!!
Who will qualify from what has probably been the most complicated of National Selections this year Bulgaria
Will Croatia send a song which gets them back into the final following last years disappointment which led to them not being in the final for the first time since 1993 when they first appeared in Eurovision.

Last but not least we should not forget that Sweden have their 3rd Melodifestivalen heat tonight and am sure we will be looking at a definate qualification to their final for Bodies Without Organs.

Terminal 3 would like to wish all of tonight's participants a "Very Best of Luck" and may the best man, woman or turkey win their country's ticket to Belgrade.

Looking back

Well another year's contest is over and I'm now back at home. So what are my thoughts on the contest? There are two things that stand out this year.... 1. Belgrade's/Serbia's apathy towards the contest, and 2. The results (as always!) So let's look at them in turn.... 1. After the recent elections, it appears that Serbians are keen to join the EU and after many years of troubles, which I will not go into, I would have thought that hosting the Eurovision would have been an excellent way to show what they are capable of. However, in the city itself, you would have been hard pressed to actually know that the contest was taking place! For most of the week, the only thing you could see with regards to the Eurovision was that a few shops were cashing in on the merchandise, a single information stall in one of the squares and I saw one advertisment for the Azerbaijan entry (there may have been more). So Terry Wogan has finally retired having damaged the reputation of the Eurovision Song Contest in the UK for far too many years. So, considering that the UK seem to be trying to take the pre -selection a bit more seriously by having Lord Andrew Lloyd- Webber help, who do they decide to take over? GRAHAM NORTON!! WHY?! For one, Graham Norton has no experience at commentating. Two, I doubt Graham Norton has any experience of being serious! So we'll be subjected to more poor jokes, tasteless innuendos as the BBC moves the commentating more away from the music. How can Terry Wogan complain about the contest moving away from being a Music contest, when the BBC has failed to treat it as such for so long! So here's to many more years of Eurovision being a total joke in the UK!
